Rain, Rain go away....

Do you ever wish you could have a "do over" day ? Well today would be one of the days I would pick !!! Cold, wet and misserable...I'm sure that Logans whole team would as well...yes they lost today. I was so afraid this was going to happen...they got behind and didn't stay in the fight !!! They had a great season...the opponents only scored 21 points on them all season...what is the worst of that is 13 of those points came today and we only scored 6 so we lost....BUMMER!!!

I was really worried about spending the day with Logan after that cause he was really down...I told Logan on the way home I would take him to lunch anywhere he wanted...then 10 minutes after we got home the door bell rang and it was one of Logans coaches' wife...she wanted to take him and 3 other kids from the team to Little America to spend the night and hang out at Gateway....hum...go to LUNCH with my family or LITTLE AMERICAfor the night...tough choice right Logan...so he is in SLC and I'm sitting here blogging...They were also going to the Conference Center for a tour after conference today where they might even get to see the prophet. The coach that took them is also an usher at the Conference Center so he has access to do that. They are the nicest friends and just didn't want the boys to sit around feeling down so they took them to do something up lifting...awesome people...love them.

One other nice thing was that my cousin Shaleece came to the game...she was in town from Idaho and said she might stop by if the weather wasn't too cold...and it was cold...so I didn't expect to see her but she came anyway. It was nice to chat and see her...I think it has been at least 9 to 10 months. So thanks for coming down Shaleece !!!

GO FALCONS !!!

I can't believe the season has finally reached the playoff time. Saturdays game is the first game of the playoffs, so its win or go home time. I'm about as anxious for this as the NBA playoffs !!! I know you all probably think I'm crazy...but that's OK I AM !!! Our team has played so well together this year I think all games combined the other team as only scored on us twice...which is awesome but what worries me is that our team could be playing some more intense games and if they start loosing they will give up and not fight for the win.



Here are the team pictures Logan brought home last night. Football pictures crack me up !!! They try to make themselves look all big and tough !!! And his hair...this faux hawk stuff kinda reminds me of little babies whose moms try to put a curl on the top of their head !!!

Notice how big the coaches are ? Well last Saturday night they had a party for the team at the aquatic center...bad idea coaches...unless you want to get wet...yep you guessed it...those little brats threw everyone of their coaches in the pool. The one on the far left was a bit of a challenge...they had to push him while he was sitting on a chair because there is no other way to move that man. Just in case you cant tell which one is Logan...he is 3rd from the right on the back row.

No I did not actually RUN a marathon...though it feels like it...we have been running all day.

8:30 A.M. Football

The interception!!!

Almost there...

Logans team won again!!! YEAH!!! He had another interception...this one was on the other teams 30 yd line and he ran it all the way back to our 3 yd line...he should have had a touch down but I think he ran out of gas and was tackled...they won 27 to 0. This teams defense is so awesome...the other team never even had a first down I don't think.

11:30 A.M. Take your family to work day...

This is the first year Smiths has done this...they had food and things for the kids to play on...they also had a dunking machine where the Management would get on it and you could buy balls to dunk them and all the money went to charity. Gary is now looking for a new job because Logan dunked his boss!!! (The highest guy in management). There was also a pie eating contest, Austin was in it...Logan couldn't because he had already ate 5 hot dogs...gross!!! The pie eating contest was nasty...lets just say Austin had to eat his pie twice, if you know what I mean it was disgusting!!!

1:30 P.M Danielle and Jims

Gary and Aaron helped Danielle & Jim put the hardwood floor in their new house...Aarons poor back, he was there for 3 hours before we got there, he could barely stand up...he will be sore tomorrow I'm sure. Danielle and I did a little painting...she even let Kadee and Abby paint some trim...with OIL base paint!!! I would never let them do such a thing...no wonder why they like her more than me...good luck Danielle on the second coat...they put ALOT of paint on with a lot of brush marks!!! Hope that turns out good.

4:00 P.M. Knight family party

It was the annual family picnic...not a lot to say about this we just ate and went home...Gary had a football game to watch so it was ok to leave early and I didn't complain...it has been a LONG day.

Buffy, Gary, and Aunt Jeannie...Jeannie just moved here from Alaska...we are glad to have them closer...EVERY time we see her she tells us this funny story about Gary when he was 2 years old...She was babysitting him at his grandmas house in Sunset and he didn't want to be there so...he left and went walking home to Syracuse !!! He made it quit far...they found him on the viaduct in Sunset headed towards Syracuse...he was crying when they found him because he knew he was going to have to go back to grandmas house!!! How scary for her thinking he was gone forever and he knew exactly where he was...going home!!!

The next marathon for me will be on Monday and will probably last a few weeks...has something to do with this...

Wish me luck!!! Scary times for me but I feel like this is what I need to do !!!

Happy Birthday Abby

Eight years old...

I have always compared my kids personalities to their labor and delivery...With Logan it was a day full of pain...Kadee she was just lazily waiting for someone to make her come into the world (i had to be started) cool, calm and collect...Then there came Abby...I worked all day and was having some pains but nothing I thought to worry about after all I was going to be started the next day...WELL I get home from work and am getting everything in order for the next day when all of the sudden my water breaks...Scared the crap out of me...and to top it all off Gary was 45 mins away at a golf tournement...he doesn't answer his phone but luckily he was with my dad and he did answer. By the time Gary got there I was having ALOT of contractions and they HURT...I thought for sure we weren't going to make it in time for an epidural...at the hospital we were standing in LINE to be admitted...more water...so we got moved to the front of the line within 45 mins I had my epidural (thankfully) and another hour Abby was here.

Its been like that with her ever since...you never know what your going to get...or what she is going to try next. The first 2 years I could not keep her out of the dirt...she loved eating it.

Then there was the treadmill thing...once again doing something she should not...she turned it on and got thrown off the back...when she put her hands on the tread to try and stand up they were sucked into the tread giving her really bad burns on her hand and some really good SKID marks on the treadmill. She had to have skin graphs to repair the skin...but she was given some really good medicine for the pain!!! We had to give it to her every night an hour before changing the dressing on her hands...well one day her hands were hurting in the middle of the day so I was just going to give her Tylenol...she told me "No I want the good stuff" !!! Does this worry me !!! YES !!!

Treadmills are hard on the hands too !!!

She is always up to something...no broken bones...but she has lost 2 fingernails...and 3 toenails...all from messing around with things she shouldn't.

But we love her anyway...she certainly keeps life interesting!!!

Another Crazy Saturday

Today we had the usual football game...8:30 on a Saturday morning should be illegal !!! I have been dragging ever since and I still got 2 more hours of sleep than I get during the week. The game was kinda boring also...the kids didn't play with that much enthusiasm either even though we won!!! Logan had a couple of good plays so he was pretty excited and he made weight with 2 pounds to spare so after the game he celebrated by eating a half gallon of ice cream...no joke...I was sick just watching. Now he will have to be running in his sweats again!!!

After the game we took the girls and some of their friends to Tepanyaki for their birthdays...I'm not a party planner but the girls wanted to do something for their b-days so I figured what the heck...we will take them out to dinner...they seemed to have fun. Until Logan showed them all why it isn't fun to have a brother (only one of the girls we took has a brother) while we were eating ice cream at Paces Logan starts FARTING...he is so gross...but he is a 13 year old and in his mind he thinks its cool to do no matter where he is...and I get no help from Gary on that one...I think he laughed as hard a Logan did...boys no matter the age they never change!!!

While the cook was doing his tricks with the eggs he dropped one right in front of the Kodees plate...never seen that happen but the girls got a kick out of it.

Its hard to believe that Kadee is 10 years old, it seems like I just had her. I remember the first time I saw her after she was born and I just thought...oh my gosh she is beautiful...she really was a beautiful baby...her head was the perfect shape...(unlike my first born !!! I'm sure you all remember that!!!). She was just perfect...except she liked to cry...ALOT...she had to be held all the time and not just held but bounced as well. She was a stinker !!!

Halloween...she loved this costume...I think she wore it everywhere I would let her.

Christmas at Grandpa Rods...What a good sport Logan was...he and Kadee were BEST friends until Abby came along !!!

Kadee is a very sweet girl and if you are her friend you have a friend for life...you come first...she is always trying to make everyone happy and is my greatest helper, she knows I don't like to leave the house until everything is picked up so as I am frantically trying to get out the door she is always at my feet picking things up with me. When ever I need help with something I always call her name because I know she will be there to help.
