Another WIN !!!

New jerseys and new # for Logan #87

I hope no one gets tired of my blogging about football...if you do...don't read it !!! Just kidding !!! I am just so proud of these kids...yes they did win again !!! They beat the team that won the mini bowl last year so it was a pretty big deal...I even stayed home from Island Park for this one !!! Kaysville was winning at half time 6 to 0 so we were a little nervous but came back from half time and scored 3 straight unanswered (Logan is narrating this for me...yes he is pretty stoked...oh and telling me how to spell!!!). One of the touchdowns came from a deflection by one of our players...he knocked the ball high in the air on a pass play and another kid from our team caught it and ran 20 yards for a TD!!! AWESOME !!! Another TD came from a 70 TD run by Mason...that kid has some wheels on him!!! Logan had two interceptions...one I was able to get a picture of the other I missed because I was getting Whitneys kids from Jake in the parking lot!!! Thanks a lot Whit!!! On the first one I saw the whole thing happen in slow motion I turned to Gary and said he is going to intercept this one...for once I could see him thinking and reading the play instead of wondering what he was thinking!!!

1st interception by Logan

(I put a red circle around it so you can see which one he is)

#2 Mason with the 70yd TD!!! AWESOME !!!

Kaysville played really dirty...one play they were going for the 2 point conversion and a gay running back from the other team scratched our player in the eye...(Logan narrating again). Then we were going for a TD and Kaysville grabbed one of our players face mask and was slamming his head in to the ground...SEVERAL times...even after the whistle. Gary and I were right there and it freaked me out...I thought for sure our player was going to get a broken neck I was so scared and the adrenalen was flowing...I just started yelling "hes got his face mask and is punching him in the neck"...no call on the player but me and Gary got in trouble from the ref...I told him I wasn't looking for a call (we were already killing them) I was just concerned for the safety of the team. Oh no have I become one of those parents ??? I swear it was pure emotion I was shaking so bad, I could just picture that kid really getting hurt...Scary stuff!!!

Logan jumping in the background celebrating the TD!!!

"That's what I call elevation"(once again Logan)

He should get his own blog.He wanted this one in here. He is he tallest one in the background!!!

Half time cheerleaders...they don't get this from me...I would never dare go out in front of people and do something like this but my girls must have more Chapman in them!!!

GO KADEE!!!

Daddy Daughter Date

Girls night out with dad.

Gary had his first Daddy Daughter Date with the girls for achievement days. They went to the park and learned about fire and cooked hot dogs and roasted marshmallows. I gave him specific instructions on what pictures I wanted him to take...one of him with the girls was what I wanted most but...he didn't listen so no pictures of him with the girls.

Kadee favorite part was learning to build a fire, must be a Chapman thing Gary always plays in the fire and Logan....well he likes to light golf balls on fire and it them into a dry field...(another summer highlight). They started with Popsicle sticks and laid them out in a tic tac toe pattern then added lint. Gary lit the match...of course he did...anyone who knows Gary knows you cant keep him out of the fire...thank heavens there were no BIG logs otherwise they could have been there all night.

Abbys favorite part was roasting marshmallows. Gary told her to put it in the fire so she did and it caught on fire so Gary had to blow it out and make her another one which Abby said "was the most perfect golden brown marshmallow" she has every had.

Must be how it caught on fire...since it is right in the flame !!!

Yummy hot dogs !!!

Back to School..yippee...horray !!!

And off they go !!! Have a nice day at school girls !!!

The day has finally arrived...back to school. This summer has gone by so fast, partly because my girls were in year round school and didn't get out until the end of June. That left two months for a summer vacation. Logan wanted a Black Berry Pearl cell phone and I figured I could use him to babysit to earn the money after all I used to tend 7 kids all summer long so surely he could handle two months with just 2 right !!!??? Lets just say thank heavens for school !!! (5-10 phone calls a day...enough said)

Logan started 8th grade this year and he is officially taller than me...yikes !!! He didn't want to go through the whole picture taking...note the look on his face !!! Hopefully he can keep up the grades he got last year (4.0) i'm nervous that 8th grade is going to be a little tougher than 7th but he is pretty smart. I still have my report card from 7th grade !!! I'm not showing it to him...that will just be an excuse for him to slack !!!
Smile Logan...this IS fun !!!
That is the biggest smile I could get out of him...guess he is getting too cool for this kind of thing !!

Kadee is in 4th grade, she has Mrs. Olsen and Mrs. Strong, they job share so one teaches in the morning and the other the afternoon then they rotate Friday's. She is excited for her new teachers she just wishes her best friend Kodee would be in her class. The "girl" drama started already...Kodee told her that Heavenly Father put them in different classes for a reason so she has calmed down about it...just wish I would have thought to tell her that sooner...might have saved a weekend of feeling sorry for herself. And the new principle lets them sit where ever they want in the lunch room...another saving grace.

Sitting at her new desk

Best friends...today anyway !!!

Abby is in 2nd grade, she has Mrs. Hendericks, who was Kadees' teacher in 2nd grade. She said all summer long that if she didn't get Mrs. Hendericks she wouldn't go to school !!! I believe her too !!! But someone was watching out for me and knew I really didn't need anymore stress this coming year. When we got to the class room Mrs. Hendericks said "Abby I'm so glad your in my class." I told her she has no idea how happy I am about it. She really is a fun teacher and Abby is already singing the songs she teaches them.

Abby and Mrs. Hendericks

Thank heavens for great teachers that help your kids enjoy school and want to go.

Football anyone ?

Yeah !!! Its finally here...FOOTBALL...and all I can say is I LOVE IT !!! It is so much fun to watch these kids play. This is their 3rd year together and they are finally getting each other. They practice 5 nights a week for 2 hours...they smell more like they do it for 10 but oh well thats part of football I guess. We were afraid Logan wasn't going to be able to play this year because on the night of their scrimage he hurt his ankle so he walked the side line after 3 plays...I was so mad I thought he was being a baby (mean mom) but we got him a brace (notice it in the pic above) and all is well. I think he thinks it makes him look tougher !!! They have won the first two games the first against Syracuse (yes!!!) and today Clinton. I even wore a West Point Football shirt...I was afraid not to after Gary spent money on it !!!

One funny thing from the game today...there was a lady standing next to me and her husband was kinda being mean about the things she said about the game...clearly she doesn't know all the calls and rules...what woman really does...anyway he kept correcting her...one time she yelled "nice block" to one of the players. He told her its not a "block" we are on defense its called a "tackle"...well I had listened nicely long enough and turned to him and said "you know women see the game differently than men she saw the team doing something good and was excited about it". I said it joking so hopefully he wasn't offended !!! If he was he better get to know me better !!!

Nice "block" Logan !!!

Kinda hard to see...but that is Logan in the back...all you can see is his hands...he almost had an interception !!!

Since Logan plays safety most of the tackles are made before they get to him...this is my safety cause I dont have to worry about him missing to many tackles...but then again if he does miss them they will score...unless they trip themselves !!! HAHAHA !!!

Going for the "block"

After the game Coaches talk...cant wait to get in the car with that "sweaty" head.

By the way I had Logan help me with the difference between "tackle" and "block" in these pictures...I don't want anyone telling me I don't know my stuff !!!

A star on the horizon ?

When I got home from work the other day Abby comes running up to me all excited to tell me something...She and Kadee made a "recording studio". I kinda just blew her off because I was in a hurry to get dinner on the table. So a little while later I found her in her room a.k.a "recording studio" I had to go to my room to laugh...She had taken my old vacuum, open the top and stuck a strainer (microphone) in the top then she got the head phones from their mini dvd player that along with her mp3 player she was set to go !!! Kids and their imaginations...oh and by the way if you see her don't mention this blog...after I took the picture she was really mad...she is afraid she will be teased !!! She made Kadee make one as well...I cant remember who was Hannah or which one was Carrie Underwood.

I know Kadee is going to be so glad to be back in school so she wont have to bossed around by Abby any more !!! Wonder where she gets that from ??? Given the comments Lacee left on my memories blog i'm wondering if I was that bossy when I was young !!! If so I TRULY apologize to everyone of you who were bossed by me!!!

Their Back

Every year of Garys life he has gone to the Uintahs camping and fishing for a week. It started when he was young and his dad would take him and his sisters...great stories from those days !!! He was definitely the "chosen child" who did no wrong...must come from being the only boy !!! This is my favorite picture of him from those trips.

After we were married Gary would just go with a couple of his friends, then when Logan turned 8 it was his turn to be included...happy day !!! Girls have never been invited but that is ok we have our own fun at home...its called peace and quiet...with no big brother to pick on the girls !!!

This is the first year that I have let them take my camera since I have two now I figured I could afford to loose one should they break it !!! I'm really glad I did they got some good pictures to go with the memories. The only thing they haven't learned is that if you want a picture you need to have the camera with you at ALL times. Logan caught a 15 inch Tiger Trout...which I'm guessing is kinda rare...I'm not up on my fish lingo...anyway they didn't have the camera so Logan ran back to the trailer to get it...Gary was holding the fish and before he could get back the fish was gone...ooops Gary.

Here are a few pictures...

The one that didn't get away !!!

He did manage to keep a hold of this one...the reason Logan is in his under ware...well Gary threw one back and after it swam off a few feet from the shore it started floating so Logan was sent in to get it !!! I swear the stories of them fishing makes me wonder if this was their first trip !!!

Logan retrieving the fish...I'm sure he was real upset when Gary told him to jump in after it...the kid loves water...he should have been born a fish.

At their camp there was a tree someone had started carving with a chainsaw that looks just like our dog Brandy...its kinda weird to think about because this is more than likely her last camping trip...she is getting so old...hopefully no one cuts it down...we will have a monument to Brandy at the camp ground !!!

Someone is sure going to miss her next year !!! They are home in one piece which is always a comfort to me. Abby is mad she has never been camping in the Uintahs which is not true she went when she was almost a year old. Well she tells Gary its not fair so he told her she cant go til she is 8...he obviously didn't think that one through very well because she will be 8 next month...she thinks she is going next year!!! We will see who is stronger her or the age old rule "this is a guys trip" !!! TO BE CONTINUED NEXT YEAR !!!
